--- Comment #15 from Kevin Dalley <kevin at kelphead.org> ---
This patch is not sufficient. I have been using the patch for a month or so, as
I am using my newly written kipi plugin for photivo. The plugin uses sidecar
data when running photivo on a file.

When I rename a tag, the old tag stays in the sidecar file, along with the new
tag. When I correct a misspelling, I get the correct spelling as well as the
incorrect spelling.

My workaround is:

rename the tag.
open all images with the new tag within digikam
reread metadata from image
verify that old tag still exists on the images
go to the Caption/Tags sidebar, remove the old tag from all images, Apply
delete the old tag

Then repeat above steps, just in case. I think that the above steps are
sufficient, but sometimes I do not catch all of the bad tags on the first
round.
