Hi,

You is welcome to contribute. Currently digiKam is in beta stage for a while :

http://community.kde.org/Digikam/GSoC2013#Roadmap_and_Releases_Plan_including_all_GSoC-2013_works

I'm currently busy with other students about Qt4 model/view projects
to review and test, but i can guide you about some bugs to
review/test/hack, especially into Camera Import tool which need to be
fixed in-deep for next release. Since this part of digiKam have been
ported to Qt4 model/view a lots of regression have been found and need
to be fixed...

There are already 2 other guys working on it, when time permit :

- Teemu Rytilahti <tpr at iki.fi> who has started recently to review all
entries in bugzilla about import toll and created a patch to fix
Gphoto2 issues in digiKam (under progress)
- Islam Wazery <wazery at ubuntu.com> who has ported 2 years ago import
tool to Qt4 model/view. He is back from a long military stage and he
just go back in team to help us.

There is an entry in bugzilla which is fully reproducible here and
very easy to test. I think it sound like not too hard to fix :

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32311

And probably other one are fully relevant of this entry, directly or
indirectly :

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323014
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307844

Import tool code is located in this source code directory :

https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/graphics/digikam/repository/revisions/master/show/utilities/importui

We work only with bugzilla to review patch. We don't use reviewboard
tool which is fully redundant and time consuming. Bugzilla is enough
so far... Please attach patches to relevant bugzilla files. Patches
much be created against git/master (currently 4.0.0-beta2).

Thanks in advance for your help. If you have more questions, don't hesitate...

best

Gilles Caulier
