The problem still exists with digiKam 3.5.0, KDE 4.10.5, LCMS 2.5.

Gilles, do you use color profiles? Could you send me / post one of yours? It
would lead to wrong colors on my monitor, of course, but I could test whether
my color profile is broken / incompatible.
Another fact:
The time to wait depends on the size of the area, the image occupies on the
screen. Having the image editor maximized, I have to wait up to 10 seconds.
Shrinking the window to the lowest possible size, waiting time shrinks to 2
seconds, too.
