I am using SQLITE.
Terminal produces this information:

ak at blacky:~$ digikam
QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is
still in use, all queries will cease to work.

DigiKam acquires more and more space, after longish 8 minutes it asks
for 3,3 GB... increasing....

After 12 minutes, digikam starts up.
