Summary: KDE system settings control center is installed,
however after choosing a dark theme, the album
explorer has still a white background with unreadable
yellow or white font.
Product: digikam
Version: 2.1.1
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Themes
AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: photographer505-bug at yahoo.com
Version: 2.1.1 (using KDE 4.7.4)
OS: Linux
I'm working on Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit. I use the German Version of digiKam. As
suggested in Bug 284740 ("Can't change theme") I installed the KDE system
settings control center via synaptic and I was finally able to change the
default theme, respectively the theme in general.
However, the changes obviously only affect the main window of digiKam. The
album explorer on the left of the main window has still a white background and
- depending on which of the dark themes I use - either with an unreadable
yellow or light grey font. I can't change anything in the album explorer via
the contrel center. The bug remains even after a digiKam- and also a system
restart.
I would be more than grateful if someone had a solution for this bug since
apart from this digiKam is a great application. To make it easier I attach a
list of packages I've already installed to get the dark digiKam theme running
correctly:
systemsettings (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
kde-wallpapers (4:4.7.1-0ubuntu2)
kde-workspace-data-extras (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
ksysguardd (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libkephal4abi1 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libkholidays4 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libksgrd4 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libkworkspace4 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libplasma-geolocation-interface4 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libsolidcontrol4abi2 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libsyndication4 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libtaskmanager4abi2 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
libweather-ion6 (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
plasma-dataengines-workspace (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
kde-wallpapers-default (4:4.7.1-0ubuntu2)
kde-workspace-data (4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1)
oxygen-cursor-theme (0.0.2010-05-10-kde4.4.3-1ubuntu1)
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Stef
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Started digiKam - selected "Einstellungen (Settings) - Design - Einstellungen
to launch the settings control center for the themes. Selected a theme and
changed the colors. Pressed "Apply" and "OK". Restarted digiKam with the same
result. The album explorer remains white. Tried it with other themes with no
success. Downloaded via the control center a dark theme called TeaSun, applied
it, restarted digiKam with no success. Restarted the PC - started digiKam
again, no success. Still a white album explorer.
Actual Results:
Everytime I start digiKam the album explorer has a white background whilst the
main window "accepts" the theme currently selected (in my case a dark theme).
Because of the white background of the album explorer the album names are
almost unreadable and the entire layout of the GUI looks quite weird now.
Especially when I click on e.g. batch processing in the menu. The following
mask is a mixture of parts of the dark them and whited-out parts with
unreadable font where I can choose the files.
Expected Results:
The entire GUI including the album explorer should use the selected theme.
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-15-generic
