gert at host:~$ locate libkipi.so
/home/gert/devel/digikam/build/lib/libkipi.so
/home/gert/devel/digikam/build/lib/libkipi.so.8
/home/gert/devel/digikam/build/lib/libkipi.so.8.0.1
/usr/lib/libkipi.so
/usr/lib/libkipi.so.8
/usr/lib/libkipi.so.8.0.1
gert at host:~$

according to aptitude libkipi8 is not installed

apt-get -s install libkipi8
NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!
