I have tried both building 2.2.0 myself, and upgrading to Kubuntu 11.10, which
has version 2.1.0 as a package.  I'm having problems with both of them (see bug
284909 for details), but as soon as those are resolved, I'll be repeating this.

I will update this incident or open a new one, as needed, once I have more
data.
