@Giles: I'm not disputing that the crash in the backtrace above is in OpenCV.
But I'm reporting that images do not show up, which happens regardless of
whether it crashes or not.
The crash is a separate issue, and not the main point of this bug report.
Unless/until proved otherwise, I'm going to suggest that this is an unrelated
issue - the issue discussed in this thread has been happening for months.
OpenCV only crashed within the last week.
