I have delete digikam rc and gat the same result
it is a new instal anything is new
I have repaeat twice the instal 
first time with suse 12.10 rc1 second with  rc2 

I dont use any data base , I supose that digikam , when it is installed,
suggest (dependance ) the instal of the package which are necessary
