I could solve the problem!

Besides Digikam I am also using Adobe Lightroom and I put the Lightroom
catalogue into the folder which Digikam uses as root album folder. In the
Lightroom creates a folder structure with lots of folders in its catalogue and
Digikam tried to open them all at the same time which exceed the OS limits for
open files.

Now I moved my Lightroom one folder up and Digikam works again except for
#266735.
