Summary: Digikam config and data cannot be moved, absolute
paths embedded in database and digikamrc
           Product: digikam
           Version: 1.8.0
          Platform: Unlisted Binaries
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Database
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: wstephenson at kde.org

Version: 1.8.0 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I moved my KDE configs and my photos from /home/foo to /home/bar. Most KDE
programs allow this without hacking

Digikam records the path to the database absolutely in digikamrc and the paths
to the albums in the AlbumRoots table of its database.

I had to hand-edit digikamrc and the sqlite database to allow digikam to start
up without a database not found error, and then to find the moved albums.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Recommend encoding paths involving current $HOME as $HOME instead of the
aboslute path, then expand these, allowing config and data to be migrated
between homes.
