1/ Ok, i take a look.

2/ I don't know this implementation using model... About GUI, i think that we
can use the widget dedicated to advanced search. See below...

3/ For the Color Label selection box, i can do it. It's easy. Something hosted
in a combbox... Not too difficult. For the engine to patch it's another stuff. 

4/ Yes, LT thumbbar is very similar than editor thumbbar. the only difference
is the way to display with an overlay over thumb where is display the image in
dual canvas (on the right or on the left panel). I think it's not too
complicated.
In LT, Thumbbar pop-up menu is present too.
