Hi,

Just for your information. I'm not sure is it valid bug at all. 
I reported it but... I use gentoo. I used to upgrade kipi/digikam continuously.
This bug has been resolved for me by removing existing photo database and
repeating scanning all media again. After that digikam could send photos to
picasa. 
You can try it, perhaps helps. 
I guess that there is some incompatibility between following versions in
database integrity or something, however I'm not expert.
