I had previously had this all working, but for reasons I don't fully understand
had to start over on .files - so the easiest thing was to rename my login from
alanr to alanr2.  I cleaned everything out from the old files and databases but
that didn't seem to have made it go away.  I'll try cleaning out even more
stuff...

The crash can be reproduced every time.
