I have the wish as you do.

Just a remark:

I think there is a missunderstanding. In the changelog of previous versions of
DigiKam, the fact that image tools are multithreaded, only meant that they can
be run in a separate thread from the gui, it does not mean they are
parallelized to use several cores.
