Summary: Support for Tethered shooting (transfer new images
directly to the PC via e.g. USB)
Product: digikam
Version: 2.0.0
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Import
AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: simon.eu at gmail.com
Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS: Linux
gphoto2 supports tethered shooting with the option --capture-tethered. This is
usually used when the Cam is connected to a PC with a (longer) USB cable; The
images taken will be transferred to the PC directly and can be viewed in higher
resolution (and by more people).
As gphoto2 only downloads the image, there are some scripts around which also
display incoming images, like this one:

But for digikam users it would certainly be more convenient to simply use
digikam for this :)
I guess digikam can not or does not want to rely on gphoto2, but I also guess
that it sould be easy to test for its existance on runtime?
Anyway, would be great to see this in digikam! :)
Reproducible: Always
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.36-1.slh.2-aptosid-amd64
Compiler: cc
