Digikam is unable to display any metadata from images produced by other
programs.

Images produced out of Cinepaint, Rawstudio etc and imported into DK are
missing EXIF and other metadata. I carefully tested using exiftool that the
metadata was correctly in place prior to trying the import.

Rereading the metadata within DK does not help nor rewriting metadata to all
images.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Using a raw file in DK, use 'open with' either Cinepaint or Rawstudio, process
to png format and save back into DK folder. ... or Directly process raw file in
outside editor and later import into DK

Actual Results:  
No metadata from any 'foreign' image processing is displayed in DK.

Exiftool reports that all image data is correctly in place in test files.

Expected Results:  
Should display all metadata as produced by external editors.
