[Digikam-devel] Please tell me how to compile digikam with exiv2 and kdcraw libraries

Good Morning,

I'm using digikam for several years now. Usually from the debian archives.
The problem is that it regularly happens that digikam just does not work
anymore for several weeks, which is kind of unpleaseant if you really need
it (I think you can imagine that). For example, I cannot use digikam from
the debian repos anymore since about half a year now because of a bug in
exiv2 which has been fixed already a long time ago[1].

Now I somehow managed to crap my system that way that a compiled digikam
worked with also self-compiled libexiv2 and libkexiv2. But other programs
like gthumb just crashed when trying to display images with exif
information. But at least digikam was working, which was the most important
to me.

The last dist-upgrade again destroyed this. And I'm again sitting on an
unusable debian digikam. (Certainly now as I'd really need to have a
working digikam.)

Therefore I'm asking here:
*How do I correctly compile and install digikam, exiv2 and kdcraw?*
(The libraries are not up-to-date in the debian repos.)

You guys must be doing that all time ;)

I'd appreciate your help very much.

Simon
