As a workarroud you have to patch digikamrc file, section '[Database
Settings]':
The directory path of 'Database Name' and 'Database Name Thumbnails' have to
end with a tailing '/'. As a expample you could also look in
http://www.digikam.org/drupal/download/SvnAlongStable (scroll down to the end).
