When starting digikam, there appears an error message window saying

Error while opening the database. digikam will try to automatically reconnect
to the database.

Here the program ist stuck. When hitting cancel, there is an info explaining
that digikam starts but will not work since opening the database failed. And
indeed, no albums are listed and the program can not be used at all.

In the konsole appear messages like

digikam(29823)/digikam (core): Error while opening the database. Error details
[ QSqlError(-1, "", "") ] 
...
QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in
use, all queries will cease to work.
QSqlDatabase:  driver not loaded
QSqlDatabase: available drivers: QSQLITE QSQLITE2 QMYSQL3 QMYSQL
QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'digikamDatabase-33407184' is
