Sorry for the delay.

To answer question 1:  Yes...somewhat.  I had been using the View mode to space
through my new album and delete the ones I didn't want.  But, the crash didn't
always occur *immediately* after I deleted a photo.

To answer question #2: All in this album were JPGs.
