Summary: Ignore case when importing tags from metadata
Product: digikam
Version: 1.4.0
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Tags
AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: languitar at semipol.de
Version: 1.4.0 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux
If I already have a tag Bielefeld in my collection and then import photos that
have tags in their metadata which may contain e.g. "bielefeld", then I end up
with two tags in the digikam tag tree, Bielefeld and bielefeld. I would vote to
ignore the case when importing tags from metadata. In general it may be helpful
to do a kind of fuzzy search to prevent having several tags with nearly the
same name and only e.g. a typo. This would probably mean to get some user
feedback.
Reproducible: Always
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.34-ARCH
Compiler: gcc
