Summary: Digikam uses all memory and hangs when importing a
directory from the hard drive with a large image
           Product: digikam
           Version: 1.2.0
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Import
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: amcnabb at mcnabbs.org

Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

I upgraded to Fedora 13 and tried to load my pictures directory into digikam.
My system has 2 GB of RAM, and Digikam used quite a bit of memory when
importing the images. When it got to a subdirectory with a large image (a
16384x8192 pixel TIFF), the memory usage went even higher, and the system
nearly froze due to swap thrashing until I killed Digikam. I then moved out
the subdirectory with the large image and restarted Digikam, and this time it
loaded without hanging.

Reproducible: Always
