Is there any new information available on this topic? IIRC, libkexiv 
contains the bugfix in its trunk, but it was impossible for many 
distributions to use that revision.

A few days ago there was a KDE bugfix released, this was a chance to make a 
"real" release of kdegraphics/libkexiv, wasn't it?
