How did you "take" your pictures from the network drive? Did you create a new
collection, before or after copying the database?
What does "pictures from the albums were not recognized" mean?

I definitely recommend to use digikam 1.0.0, available for you from the
OpenSuse Build Service.

I am not sure what your initial setup was like. Normally, even if you copy
files outside digikam, it will detect that files are identical and preserve all
metadata including tags.
