I tried to though it's more complex to me then i.e. exiftools =)

I extracted the metadata and tried to write it to the file again when exiv2
crashes with:
exiv2: /root/trunk/src/tiffcomposite.cpp:1845: virtual uint32_t
Exiv2::Internal::TiffDirectory::doSizeData() const: Assertion `false' failed.
Aborted
