I tried the 1.2.0 versions of Digikam and Showfoto, the kipi-plugins are
0.7.0-1ubuntu2. 

I tried to open a folder with a lot of large photos and close it before all the
thumbnails show up, there is no crash. 

Is there anything else I need to do to test this?
