Summary: Should be able to lock the aspect ratio when resizing.
Product: digikam
Version: unspecified
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: linuxguy123 at gmail.com
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
This concerns Album View -> Batch -> Resize Images. I saw this because I am
not sure what resize tool is used in the Light Table part of digikam.
It would be really nice if there was an option when resizing the image to keep
the aspect ratio of the original image when changing the size of one of the
axes.
For example, lets say my camera is 2:3 and produces jpgs of 800x1200. When I
use the resize tool, it would be nice if I could lock the aspect ratio (at 2:3)
and then change X to 600 and have Y change to 900 automatically. Or I could
slide Y to 1800 and X could change to 1200 automatically.
As it is right now, I have to get my calculator out everytime I resize images
to keep the aspect ratio correct.
BTW: I really like how the resize tool is implemented in GIMP. I know that the
digikam resize tool needs to be a bit different because its a batch tool, but
you might want to look at the GIMP resize tool for ideas.
Thanks for listening.
