[Digikam-devel] Fwd: [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#558168: Editor: saving images as tiff doesn't include thumbnail

digikam-devel,

As a member of the Debian GNU/Linux team that maintain the digikam package we get a few bugs reports like the attached which I suspect are generally upstream issues. The full list is here:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=digikam

What we generally do is try and confirm that the bugs are real and then log into the kde bug tracking system and generate a new report. Sometimes this could be a few days, or sometimes a few months after the original report.

Obviously waiting a few months for a bug to be reported upstream isn't great :-( However, we don't have a huge team and we work on it when we can.

The Debian bug tracking system (BTS) is available through the Web interface, above, but also can send email to subscribers when bugs are reported.

Could I suggest that we subscribe digikam-devel at kde.org to receive debian reports about digikam to provide upstream with real time visibility of what debian users are reporting.

This of course won't get the reports into the kde bug tracking system, which is I suspect where the digikam team would prefer automated reports to be forwarded. However as we can't easily automate the link between the debian and kde BTS then email to digikam-devel at least will provide early visibility.

There will also be potentially some debian specific packaging issues reported, which whilst not an upstream responsibility I still think would be useful from a visibility perspective to see what we have done with the package.

Comments?

Mark

Package: digikam
Version: 2:1.0.0~beta6-1
Severity: normal

Hi altogether,

I just noted that saving an image as tiff does not include a thumbnail anymore.
Thus, the normal overview in digikam does not show the image butt the replacing balloon icon.

With best wishes,

Wolfi
