Oh god damn it Ubuntu, what have you done...?
Will Ubuntu PLEASE update the digiKam package? PLEASE do not use beta5 for
another 6 months now, marking bugs as duplicates drives me crazy :-(

this is nothing against you :-) I'm just a little pissed that Ubuntu uses a
beta version in their stable branch right now, and unfortunately the one that
crashes while showing the AlbumSelect dialog.
