Summary: Albums by due date - optional startup view
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: haakon.eriksen at far.no

Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)

I have some suggestions for Digikam, if you are interested.

Assuming that I do 200 images per customer at a wedding or photo shoot, I
quickly want to start Digikam and add the images to a customer album. I need to
set a due date, and be reminded of upcoming due dates.

I have a mock-up image of what I would like Digikam to show me upon startup.
Rather than the long text it does now, I would like an optional startup view.
It shows the four next albums, sorted by due date.

The album that needs to be finished first is shown larger an above the three
albums that are coming up. Next to the album that is due first is a short
info-box, showing the album name, customer number, due date, the number of
images in the album, the number of edited and the number of discarded images.

The album thumbnail could be either the next image for editing in that album or
the last edited image in that album. By clicking on the image it is opened, and
other images in the album should be shown as thumbnails somewhere close by.

What do you think?
