Yes, it's possible of course.

But look like all XMP informations set by ACDsee are not recognized by Exiv2
library. We need an ACDsee XMP namespace, like it's already recognized by
Exiftool:

We use Exiv2 library to play with all metadata. We have also an internal
wrapper name libkexiv2 from KDE core but maintained by us.

If you is developer, it's not very complicated to patch Exiv2. XMP namespace
definitions are in this file :

Like you can see ACDSee and also LightRoom metadata definition are missing. All
contribution are welcome...

There are already some bugzilla entries to support XMP sidecar. i will
certainly mark this file as duplicate, excepted if it's about ACDSee only.
