Summary: digikam does not show any pictures
Product: digikam
Version: 0.10.0
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: digikam-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: bugs.kde.org at yknott.cjb.net
Version: 0.10.0 (using 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2)), Kubuntu
packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-13-generic
digikam
2:0.10.0-1ubuntu3
Where I expect to see thumbnails of the pictures, digikam shows no thumbnails.
Using the opengl slideshow shows the pictures.
generating thumbnails shows the thumbnails.
I have digikam configured to use a local collection at
/home/user/Pictures
with the db stored in
/home/user/Pictures/db
The generated sqlite db is 6.3MB and viewing it shows that Digikam found some
pictures.
I thought maybe something was wrong with the db so I removed the settings for
digikam and the digikam db file.
removing
~/.kde/share/config/digikamrc
~/Pictures/db
Upon opening digikam the next time, I am asked for the location of the pictures
and the location for the db. Again I enter ~/Pictures and ~/Pictures/db.
the ~/Pictures/db directory does not exist so digikam creates it. The next
several minutes are spent waiting for digikam to pop up (the splash screen is
shown while digikam scans for pictures).
After scanning, the directory structure of pictures/folders is shown in the
left of digikam. The middle is empty and the right is the info panel. clicking
a different directory does not change the middle, always showing 0 thumbnails.
tools/opengl image viewer shows the pictures
during the 'rebuild all fingerprints', there is a small thumbnail image next to
each filename
