I'm quite sure it only affects users of KDE 4.3b1. There seems to be a API/ABI
breake somewhere...
But shouldn't rebuilding resolve this?

I don't think that this is something that has do be discusses in this bug
report.
But to give a short answer: There are a few good reasons why I use Kubuntu.
Since KDE 4 the packages are more or less unpatched so they are nearly the same
as upstream and updates after the release are very conservative - as long as
you don't use PPAs.
