Hi Gilles

In platform.h is the symbol __BIGENDIAN__ defined for Mac OS. On Intel Macs
this symbol must not be defined. Recently I got some messages that with this
minor change it runs well on Intel Macs.

If the system runs on an older PowerPC Mac then I first have to organize such a
machine and to do some tests, but at the moment I'm on holiday.
