The kioslaves might be not compatible since the update.
You said you recompiled digiKam?
Have you logged out and logged in again after installing?
Sometimes kioslaves get not reloaded correctly when installing them in a
running KDE session.
You might even try to restart your system.

Another possibility is to run

kbuildsyscoca4 --noincremental

in a KDE session.
