Yes, it does.
With MALLOC_CHECK_=2 (or MALLOC_CHECK_=3) it doesn't even open.
I could rotate some images with MALLOC_CHECK_=1, but it crashed after about 8
image rotations. I had to kill kio_file (digikam.slave-socket) to reopen
digikam and I couldn't rotate anymore. It dies with:
*** glibc detected *** digikam: free(): invalid pointer: 0x0000000005b97170 ***
or
digikam: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) -
(dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed.
or
digikam: xcb_lock.c:33: _XCBUnlockDisplay: Assertion
`xcb_get_request_sent(dpy->xcb->connection) == dpy->request' failed.
