Dietz,

Please run strace on digikam.

$ strace digikam

and that will let us know what is going on.

In my case I had an issue with FD 7 not being opened which led me to nepomuk.

Also could I ask you to continue to cc: the bug tracking system, so we can keep a record of the debugging efforts.
