I also vote for this.
It's not only RAW and JPEG. I also want to save the XCF (from GIMP) to be able
to make changes later on. And maybe several versions of editing. And several
sizes (on for the web, one for printing etc.).
So with edited images I usually end up between 5 and 10 files. Having them
grouped in digiKam would ease the tag assignment (all could get the same tags
and rating optionally) and the browsing/ searching. And of course also
deletion, renaming, copying etc.

Almost all big management tools have this stacking feature - starting in F-Spot
and going to Lightroom. So why are digiKam developers trying to say it is not
necessary? Or am I just getting it wrong?
Sorry for the criticism. I like digiKam a lot but this is something I can't
understand.
