Thanks that's what we wanted to see but still, it's of no help because the
backtrace is broken...

You say it happens during the splashscreen - does it happen just while the
debug messages about loading plugins are output? Or do they finish before?

Maybe you have old binaries around, check /usr/lib/kde4/kipiplugin_* and
/usr/lib64/kde4/digikamimageplugin_* , if necessary by temporarily removing
them.
