The GDB output on comment 5 is incomplete because you didn't run the
application. You don't need to install from sources if you have the debuginfo
package installed

Proper GDB steps:

- Run "gdb digikam" on Konsole
- When the GDB prompt appears, type "run" + Enter
Digikam will start
Digikam could crash too
- If it crashes, go back to the Konsole/GDB window and type "bt full" + Enter;
to finally paste that output here.
If it doesn't crash then it is fixed.
