Waiting for beta6 to show up in karmic... This is a a production machine, so
only official packages are loaded on it.

No, there was no feedback dialog beforehand. Just the error message when I
actually tried to add the new collection.

"solid-hardware list details" printed out loads of stuff, so I imagine that
it's working.
