Yes it is increasing, but it not very much!

Rotating different files (that is also my use case):
====================================================
Digikam (Version 0.11.0-svn (rev.: 955848)) without editor started: 477 MB
Loaded in editor before rotating: 826 MB
after 1st rotation: 843 MB
2nd file: 866 MB
3rd file: 889 MB
4th file: 913 MB
after closing that file (i.e. also the image editor): 789 MB
Starting the editor again: 968 MB

During the rotation process the memory footprint is about 150 MB larger, but in
any case there is over 2,5 GB free memory available on my system.
