I don't know how I can do that. With the kipi-plugins and digikam, I read from
the INSTALL file that build instructions can be found at
http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/KDE4

However, I don't get along with this site: I just cannot find there how you can
just configure, compile, and install a package. Do you know a place where this
is described in a better way.

Back to the topic: You are right, I am indeed using version 0.18 of exiv2,
according to the digikam menu.
