Definitely error in installation.

Do you run 0.10 under KDE3? 

If 'yes' you probably didn't initialized properly KDE4 environment variables.

If 'no' check ~/.kde4/share/apps/digikam directory and remove any *.rc files.
If it doesn't help do it the same in ~/.kde/share/apps/digikam directory.
