Nadav,

Video and Audio playback are fully delegate to a KDE sub-component which is embeded as well in digiKam interface. We don't implement any video/audio player in digiKam.

I recommend you to check your system and install another default KDE component to play video. Here i use Kaffeine which run like a charm.
