You'll see that importing my old digikam database works well and is tested. It is quite fast and you'll see some messages with the very first lines on the console.

The warnings under point 2 are irrelevant. They come from somewhere in libkexiv2 or libexiv2. I have a lot of them too.

3 and 4 are relevant and important crashes.
3: Can you reproduce it? Do you have information where the other threads are hanging when the process locks?

4: I need to study the code. In the case that I cannot guess the problem, I would need your digikam4.db file. But more on that later.
