Hi there,
digikam is one of the greates tools for KDE. But if you work with RAWs its very slow. I make on one day round about 4000 RAW-pictures. I download it with digikam (works fast) but then comes the first (of three) phase of reviewing, sorting and deleting (round about 100 pics survive this action after three phases).
Digikam is in this phase very very slow. It would be nice if digikam catch all of my 4GB-RAM (RAM is cheap at you can't buy a PC with less then 2GB I think) for cache. But the lighttable is very slow.
I think you know about a photographer works: click-click-click... - so I see the pics in all tools as a slideshow with little different movings in it.
As workaround for the slow lighttable I use the slideshow to review the pics.
That is ok, I see the pics on the whole screen in a good speed then. But I miss a button or a keyboard shortcut to rate the pics in the slideshow. In my opinion it would be a big step for digikam to manage photos.
