Yes I am seeing this now too.  

The package worked for a while with KDE4.1 RC2, but has stopped with the 
release of 4.1 final ;-(

Hopefully upstream will fix the digikam issues and release a beta2 of digikam.

My focus for the next month will be towards the kde3 packages for lenny, but 
if you come across some patches for the kde4 build I might consider uploading 
another version to experimental.
