Summary: Digikam 9.3 and above ignores files created through
                    external applications like gimp
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: m.spring gmx de

Version: 9.3 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When using an external application like gimp to work on a image managed by digikam and saving the results under a different filename in the same directory as the original file, digikam does not show the new image until digikam is shut down and started anew.

This behaviour does show up in 100% of the cases. Especially in almost empty directories, digikam seemed to grab the change and show the new files. In directories with more than 100 pictures it never noticed the new files created by an external application.
